You may be wondering what has happened to the Union Flag at The Green, Warlingham.
Unfortunately, a part of the flag pole, called the halyard, has broken and caused the finial (at the top of the mast) to become dislodged. As a result, the flag was wrapping around the top of the mast and could not fly properly.
We have ordered a new halyard and hope to make a repair as soon as possible. In the meantime, the flag itself will be checked over and given a thorough wash and brush up so that it will look its best and be ready to be flown once more.
