Maintaining the appearance of The Green

Please don’t fly post on trees on The Green

Working with Tandridge District Council, Warlingham Parish Council puts a lot of effort into keeping The Green looking nice and the trees and grass healthy. To help with this, there are strict policies on advertising – banners or posters that have not received official permission will be removed. This applies to anywhere on The Green, both sides of the road.

To find out how to get permission for banners and our policies, go to our website.

In particular, we would ask residents not to put posters on the trees. This can harm the trees if posters are attached with drawing pins or staples. These puncture the bark which encourages infection and could ultimately weaken the tree.

You may have noticed that, when we do approve something to go on the trees – such as community event banners or the poppies in October/November – they are attached with cord or cable ties.
