The Government has decided that democracy should not be cancelled because of Covid 19. The elections on 6th May for County, District, Parish and the Police and Crime Commissioner, will therefore take place but in a Covid-Secure way.

The Government has also decided that campaigning should be allowed in the run up to the polls on 6th May. This means that leafleting and doorstep canvassing are permitted so that voters have the necessary information about candidates before casting their vote. All campaigners are expected to follow the usual guidance on how to stop the spread of coronavirus including the wearing of face coverings and keeping socially distanced at 2 metres. The
